PORT HURON, MI – McMorran Arena will host a day of old school hockey on Saturday, March 6 when the Detroit Red Wings Alumni take on Port Huron Professional Hockey Alumni in a charity game at 4 p.m. The hockey action continues at 7:30 p.m. when the Port Huron Icehawks host the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

The alumni game is your chance to watch some former Red Wing greats and former Port Huron players in action for the low ticket price of just $5. Red Wings Alumni slated to appear include Darren McCarty, Dennis Hextall, Mickey Redmond, Joe Kocur, John Orgodnick and more. All players appearances are scheduled to change.

Players will sign autographs during intermission for $5. All proceeds benefit local charities.

Detroit Red Wings anthem singer Karen Newman will sing the national anthem during the alumni game and stay to sing at the Icehawks game. Newman will also drop the ceremonial first puck during the Icehawks game and sign autographs during first intermission.

“We are proud to once again bring the Detroit Red Wings Alumni to Port Huron,” said Alumni Operations Manager and Port Huron Icehawks VP/Business Manager Dave Goetze. “Our games offer fans a unique opportunity to watch some of their favorite former players strap on the skates once again. The alumni players put on a great show and do it all for a great cause.”

The game is sponsored by Datapak Services Corporation, Carhartt and TCF Bank.

TCF Bank and the Red Wings Alumni are also teaming up to present the SONS Talented Tenth, a leadership development program for St. Clair County High School students. Students will be nominated by their school and interviewed by a panel of local professionals. Those students selected will be recognized during an intermission at the alumni game.
